21 people. 21 new homes. And why this is more than just a number.

Last week, 21 people found their new roommates through heyroom. Sounds like a number at first. A nice statistic for the monthly meeting or a reason for a quick high-five in the team.

But this?
That’s much more.

That’s 21 new homes. 21 times “Welcome to your new chapter”. And that’s exactly why we founded heyroom. Not because we necessarily felt like another startup or a fancy app (although, the app is pretty nice). But because we believe that shared flats are more than just a cheap housing solution. They are a real antidote to loneliness!

A home is more than four walls

You may know this: This one shared apartment that changed everything. Where roommates became friends. Where you felt understood – without big words. Where the kitchen was the place-to-be, even if there was only frozen pizza. Where no one asked why you didn’t want to say anything right now – but someone was there anyway.

This feeling – that’s our why.

The world preaches individualism. We say: Together is better.

The world constantly tells us: You have to manage on your own. Single apartment. Individual office. Noise-cancelling against everything that disturbs. But we believe that the best often happens when you’re not alone.

We don’t want you to just find a room. We want you to find people who make your everyday life a little bit brighter. That make you laugh when all you really wanted to do was take out the trash. Who are there – if you don’t want to be alone.

And you know what?

21 people found just that last week. Next week there will be even more. And we keep going – with heart, with vision, with a few too many coffees a day.

Because we believe in what shared flats can be:

Lively, loving, sometimes slightly chaotic, but always real home.

heyroom is an app.
heyroom is a movement.
And we’re just getting started.
